The Location

Situated on three hectares of land in Southern Italy, among old olive and pomegranate trees and just a few kilometers from the Mediterranean Sea, Elaya is a modern day sanctuary that offers a space for practice, transformation, and refuge. Here, we explore ways of living in which humans can truly blossom, restoring connection with self, with one another, with the land, and with the
more-than-human world.

About the space

About the region

Puglia is located in the southern tip of Italy, in what is known as the “heel” of the country. It is a fascinating and beautiful region, known for its deep and rich traditions both cultural and of course culinary, for its stunning coastline and crystalline waters, charming villages, and ancient olive groves. Here the old ways are still very intact, life is slow, people work the land and care for their food, they will always try to help and open their homes to you, and the dolce vita, the art of enjoying life,
is a reality.

Inner Frame is a luxury retreat for women who wish to deepen their relationship with image making,
self-expression and creative collaboration.

Meet your hosts

Beatrice Gilbo

Born in Rome and based in Cape Town for the past 13 years, Beatrice is a photographer and practitioner of the healing arts.

The daughter of an actress, she grew up surrounded by the world of image and performance and learned early how those spaces can both shape and distort one’s sense of self-worth.

Her journey through yoga and Qigong has guided her toward a grounded, loving relationship with herself, one that she now brings into her creative work with others. A devoted yoga practitioner and teacher for over a decade, Beatrice recently completed a three-year teacher training in Qigong.

Specializing in analog film photography, she is passionate about helping women feel truly seen
in their softness, power, and truth.

Emilia Cianci

Italian born, Emilia is the co-founder of Elaya.

Her personal work weaves together somatic and movement therapy, ritual and ceremony, bodywork, soul work, performance art, alchemy & astrology and the mystical path of the heart.

She has held spaces both in 1:1 work and in groups for almost a decade now, through workshops, courses, retreats, pilgrimages and more.

Her focus is on women, although her spaces are often open to anyone. Ultimately she is interested in supporting others in remembering their truth, expanding their capacity for love and awakening to a true sense of belonging, wonder and connection to Life.

Kaihalana Locey

Originally from Hawai‘i, Kai is a creative entrepreneur devoted to building spaces where art, connection, and self-inquiry meet.

She is the co-founder of Kolder Creative, an online filmmaking academy that has supported thousands of artists in shaping creative careers. Her work extends beyond the digital space into retreats, residencies, and gatherings designed to foster meaningful connection and creative exploration.

Based in Cape Town since 2021, Kai founded Trilogy House, a space she designed for intentional gatherings and creative residencies.

Drawn to the inner landscape as much as the outer, Kai is a certified psychosomatic practitioner, deepening her understanding of the mind-body connection and the role it plays in how we create, relate, and live.

Who it’s for

Models

“Too many women in the modeling world feel objectified or drained, caught in dynamics that disconnect them from
their power”

Inner Frame was designed to rewrite this narrative: to offer a new path that is conscious, authentic, and deeply human.

Photographers

“Many photographers have great technical skill but lack the opportunity to create within truly empowering,
soulful settings”

4 places are reserved for photographers wishing to expand their portfolios,
shooting alongside Beatrice.

Creators

You don’t need to be a professional model or photographer to take part in this retreat. Inner Frame offers a space to reconnect with yourself through the art of image-making.

You might simply wish to capture a moment of yourself, empowered, present, and seen in a new way.
